Deep Structure

What was really meant when something was communicated. (what you mean't to say when you said "I'll ring you").

"Sure, I'll ring you"

Deep Trance Identification

A state of hypnosis where your unconscious can give you an 'as if' experience of being someone else thereby eliciting new resources for later use.

Deletion

The removal or exclusion of parts of an experience from your senses, memories or your communication. For example people who work in noisy environments become accustomed to filtering out much of the sounds.

Description

How we choose to represent something. We see, we hear and we feel. Having done that we may choose to describe and our description will be uniquely ours.

An evolutionary tool created by Richard Bandler which presupposes that the skills we already possess only scratch the surface of our capabilities.

Two words which aim to express where you would like to be and which presuppose that you are not there yet.

Describes a situation in which only two possible states can exist. A great example is a light switch. It is either ON or OFF.

Discovery Frame

Consider that whoever frames a context also controls the context. Using the discovery frame allows the person framing the context to deliver new learnings through activities or processes.

Experiencing something as a third person or observer. For example seeing yourself on a movie screen.

A technique to help remove unwanted behaviours or memories by moving them away and replacing them with more powerful resources.

To understand someones experience or behaviours by acting as if you are that person. See also AlignWhere events are inaccurately represented in any medium including our own internal representations. Time is often distorted in our minds.

Dovetailing Outcomes

Neatly fitting different outcomes together such that they are all in harmony. This is one of the keys to successful negotiations by providing outcomes which are useful to all.
